For those that are with FXCM: You can download TradeStation/Marketscope as FXCMs trading software package. In the attached picture you can see the EUR/USD chart with the US Dollar chart overlaid on it. I keep this open as I trade. It's nice being able to see the movement of the dollar and how it relates to the EUR/USD pair. It's as close as you can come to cheating.

Having the dollar index is very important to those that scalp the markets.
