Working with tech support from Ninja Trader with regards to the tenth pip and readout problems.
From tech support:
Hello Terence,
I've done some testing and yes the change in tick size from .0001 to .00001 will make the renko bars display much faster than normal. In Ninjatrader 7 it defaults to .0001 so that's why you are seeing the difference.
In regards to the ruler, I would recommend checking your settings by right clicking on the Ruler and then left clicking on Properties. In the "Y value display unit" make sure the setting is set to "Pips".
I would also recommend checking for this in your ATM Strategy "Custom Strategy Parameters". To do this, click on the drop down under "ATM Strategy" from a SuperDOM or Chart Trader window and then choose "Custom". Next, under "Parameter type" choose "Pips".
Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.
My response and what I have found to work:
Hello James.
Thank you for the response.
Acting on your advice I started to change the setting. What I found works is:
Set the tic size for 0.0001 in the instrument manager. Set the ruler for ticks. Set the ATM Strategy for ticks.
Now everything displays as it should. Not sure if this was the original intent but it is what works.
Hope this helps those that own Ninja Trader.

After more testing today the 10th pip throws off everything IF you use Renko charts along with regular candlestick charts. If you just stick regular candlesticks it's OK to use the 0.00001 setup.
I'm hoping to get on TeamViewer with tech support sometime this week to explain.

From tech support:
Hello Segwin, Thanks for your reply. There is no plan on changing it so you can display forex in Pip settings once again. It will always be in TenthPip. Rather than modifying your tick size for the instrument (which can prevent things from properly functioning) you just need to modify the value used for your renko charts. So for example, a 10 renko on NinjaTrader 7 with Pip quotes would be a 100 renko on NinjaTrader 8 which and TenthPip quotes.
Works great however the ATM stop or limit will show ie. 200 for 20 pips or 150 for 15 pips. I left a message for them about it. It should read 15.0 for 15. This is after you place a trade and are moving your stop loss on the chart for example.

It always gets confusing with the pips and pipette. This is not a issue with futures, so eventually you will want to move into the futures market. However, you absolutely do not want to do this until you have a proven profitable methodology. In general, once I'm trading over one full lot size I like to be on the future side because cost per trade is cheaper at that level.

Hi AB,
Early on I was losing but have a pretty good handle now. I still only use 10K as my size when live however. My entries are solid but my biggest problem is pulling the plug to early. Something that UniRenko is helping a lot with.
It's my busy time of year with home inspections so my time with Forex is hit and miss. Come fall when the kids go back to school I'll slow down again. Perhaps futures come the start of 2017 God willin' and the creek don't rise.

Another bug. My post on the NT forums. I gotta say though that I really like NT8 and have no plans on going back to 7.
Hello,
I monitor 3 currencies. I have a 70 tick chart, Renko 2 (now 20) & Renko 4 (now 40) for each currency so I have a total of 9 tabs.
If I switch from Sim 101 to my live account in 1 tab then all tabs, not just the one currency, change to live. If I switch my ATM strategy in one tab then all tabs switch (not just the currency I changed it in).
The currencies are EURUSD, GBPUSD and NZDUSD. I would have thought that if I had them all in Sim101 and then wanted to just make the EURUSD live that the GBPUSD and NZDUSD would stay on the SIM101 account.. The same also hold true for the ATM strategy.
If I make changes in the Data Series it works correctly by only changing the chart I was making the change and not global.
How is this intended to work?
Thank you,
Terence
Their response:
Hello Segwin,
I am able to confirm the Account Selector is the same for all tabs in a chart.
I am inquiring if this is expected behavior. If so, I will submit a feature request on your behalf to allow this to be unique for each tab. If not, I'll report this to development.
Once I have a tracking ID for the feature request or bug report I will post this in this thread.
